Navigating in the model using bookmarks

There is often a need to mark a particular place in a model to be able to find it later. You can do this using bookmarks. To create a bookmark follow these steps:

1. Select an element in the Project Explorer or a symbol or line in a diagram.
2. In the Edit menu, select Add Bookmark.
3. Give a name to the bookmark that is meaningful to you. The default name is the qualified name of the selected element.
4. Press OK to close the dialog and create the bookmark. A small blue bookmark decorator appears on the selected element. For example, here is a class with a bookmark decorator:
5. To view available bookmarks, open the Bookmarks view from Windows – Show Views – Bookmarks.
6. From the Bookmarks view, double-click a bookmark to navigate to its element. You can also use the Bookmarks view for deleting bookmarks that you no longer need or to rename existing bookmarks.

An alternative to using bookmarks for navigation is to use the Navigation History feature. Read about this feature in the chapter "Navigation History" in this document.
